Sinterklaas & Present Roulette

Get ready for a cozy and festive Sinterklaas evening filled with treats, games, and classic Dutch holiday vibes! Come join the fun and experience the magic of Pakjesavond together!

How it works:

1. Before the event:
   We will be doing a classic Dutch tradition called “schoentje zetten”, meaning you will have to bring a shoe to the Common Room before the event! You can do this a week in advance or an the day itself, but before 17:00 on the day of the event! If you cannot bring a shoe, we can provide one for you. You will get it back, don’t worry.
2. During the event:
   We will bake ‘pepernoten’ together, a classic Dutch Sinterklaas snack that we will eat afterwards!
   We will also play Dobbelspel (aka present roulette). It’s a traditional game where everyone brings 2-3 small wrapped presents (max €5 total) to put into a shared pool, Then, we roll a giant dice and follow its fun rules. By the end, everyone will go home with a few fun presents.

• Snacks and/or drinks
• Look around at home—bring items you no longer need but someone else might love.
• Visit a second-hand shop for quirky, unique, or useful items.
• Think reusable, creative, or practical (avoid single-use or wasteful gifts).
